The Coastal Town of Estepona

The Coastal Town of EsteponaEstepona is one of the few coastal towns that whilst providing tourist facilities, still maintains its original charm and character, with the old town of Estepona a hive of activity.

The numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve authentic Spanish delicacies, and you'll find unusual shops and bodegas where you'd least expect them.

Estepona Marina is at the west end of the Paseo Maritimo and is a delightful place to wonder round, look at the boats, sit in one of the bars and watch the world go by, or eat in one of the restaurants. Although there are no shops, other than the odd mini-supermarket or newsagent, there is a "rastro" market held every Sunday morning.

After midnight (especially in the summer season) the port comes alive when numerous night clubs and discos seem to materialise from nowhere. Most of them cater for the young and energetic but visitors will be amazed to see the very young and the very old dancing the traditional Andalucian Sevillana well into the early (and not so early) hours of the morning.
